Wale Goes Back To His Nigerian Roots In “The God Smile”
In this newest visual by MMG’s Wale called “The God Smile” Wale takes us through a wordl we otherwise might never see in Nigeria. Wale has often spoken about his African roots, both in his raps and in interviews, so its rather fitting that Wale takes his visuals to Nigeria as he takes us back to The Album About Nothing. This is 100% one of the more slept on songs from the project. Def one where it wouldn’t hurt to reach for the repeat button.

Find Out The Reason Young Thug And Benzino Are Teaming Up To Help A New Artist
In what seems like the most unlikely of combinations, Snypa teams up and collaborates with Benzino and Young Thug for his latest record “It’s Nothing.” Produced by the late Speaker Knockers (RIP), this track has a dope vibe that’s complemented with some clean cartoon inspired artwork. Question is why did homie feel the need to get Benzino on the track, wasn’t Thug’s personality enough already?

Nearly two decades after the release of his classic debut, West Coast stalwart Ras Kass returns to Soul On Ice for a two-part follow-up album led by tough-as-nails lead single “Downward Spiral.” It boasts neck-snapping production by UK’s ILLinformed, and a series of grimy features from Freddie Foxxx and Onyx’s Fredro Starr and Sticky Fingaz.
With slick references to Killer Mike, Conrad Murray (the doctor who killed Michael Jackson), artist Dorian Gray, and wack trend-hopping rappers, Ras steals the show here with his attention-commanding opening verse before passing the mic to his talented collaborators. Each emcee offers gritty, raw, and timeless rhymes that ultimately point directly back to the hook’s message of flushing all the bullsht directly down the shtter like it deserves.

For those of you who took our humble but emphatic advice to watch the premiere of “Empire,” season 3 that aired yesterday at 8/9c on Fox, the drama certainly did not disappoint when it came to answering some of those nagging questions that had us hanging by a thread last season after that huge fall down the stairs for Rhonda Lyon (Kaitlin Doubleday), and the ousting of patriarch Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) from his Empire CEO roost. For those of you who haven’t checked your DVR, or just don’t want to know, from this point forward we are listing some of the best season 3, episode 1 highlights, so huge SPOILER ALERT for those who decide to read the below:
- Rhonda is alive, but her baby with Andre Lyon (Trai Byers) is no more. So very sad, but at least we didn’t have to say goodbye to one of the best ride or die b*tches Andre is likely to come by. However in an interesting development, Rhonda doesn’t remember being pushed down the stairs, but believes that she just lost her footing and fell. And but of course, Anika Calhoun (Grace Gealey) made sure that she visited Rhonda in the hospital to hear this from the horse’s mouth and add her own two cents that perhaps this tragedy was “for the best.” The best for Anika, certainly….
- Lucious Lyon is ready to regain control of his company by any means necessary. In scenes that had him packing and handling more guns than an anxious mobster planning a holiday getaway, Lucious has made it clear that he’s gunning for Empire’s board, Camilla (Naomi Campbell) and his own son, Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) if they don’t toe the line towards re-clearing a path for him to regain the Empire CEO crown. Lucious even offered Hakeem his own gun to shoot him in the back, rather than otherwise be shot on sight by Lucious should Hakeem take the open position of Empire CEO. It was a close one, but Hakeem sensibly chose not to shoot his own father and take his chances in the Empire boardroom as it’s new CEO.
- Cougars are going to roar, and Camilla in offering Hakeem top spot as CEO of Empire demands that Hakeem break up with his Tiger Beat Lyon cub love Laura Calleros (Jamila Velazquez) in the bargain – which Hakeem does. However, in his usual raw and emotionally driven way, Hakeem soon realizes that he is actually in love with Laura. As such, he goes to Laura’s grandma’s house in the hood and wins her back – consummating the relationship and saying the L word back to Laura just as he is deflowering her. Can you say virgin be gone? Camilla will likely be wishing he had all while making ‘Keem pay.
- Lastly, Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson) has her own designs for taking out Camilla from the inside by leveraging middle son Jamal Lyon’s (Jussie Smollett) record release as a hefty incentive to get Empire to acquire Lyon Dynasty and appoint her both Empire and Lyon Dynasty’s head of A&R. More tricky moves ahead for the Cookie monster… should be fun to see how it all gets her to final destination: revenge island.
“Don’t Tell Em”: Jeremih Earns Gold Certification For ‘Late Nights’ Album Despite Slow Start
(AllHipHop News) Last night Def Jam recording artists Jeremih celebrated the RIAA Gold certification for his project Late Nights.
The Grammy nominated singer was surprised with a dinner party to celebrate his third studio album becoming RIAA Certified Gold.
Jeremih’s manager, J. Erving, gathered the singer’s friends, family, and business associates for an intimate dinner to celebrate the singer’s accomplishment.
A great deal of the album’s success is attributed the Chicago native’s RIAA Double Platinum song, “Don’t Tell Em” featuring YG.
It’s been quite a successful year for Jeremih as he also found success with his single, “Planes” featuring J. Cole.
His manager J. Erving commented last night saying it was an honor to work with Jeremih.
“It’s an honor to manage an artist like Jeremih. I feel like he has proven that his sound can transcend across different genres of music and sell in this digital age,” Erving said.
Late Nights was released in December of 2015 via Def Jam Recordings and has done relatively well despite, early concerns from Jeremih’s camp that the the project wasn’t getting the proper publicity.
“@DeafJamRecords y’all don’t even deserve my voice,” Jeremih said in December via Tweets that have since been deleted. “It’s not the fact that mi album was actually priced 18.99.”
“There’s actually no CD’s in the stores to even buy, that’s the main point. each Best Buy was shipped 6-7 copies a peice,” he continued on. “We checked in to the Corperate offices at Best Buy in Chicago and they told us LateNights wasn’t on this wks added shipment list ,nor next weeks ?? #MyAlbumJustDroppedLastWeek” Jeremih said from his Twitter in mid-December.
For the time being, things appear to be going better with Def Jam and Jeremih as the R&B singer’s commercial for Apple TV appears to be picking up.
Jeremih’s track “Oui” made the Apple TV commercial entitled “The Kiss” that has over 3 million views on YouTube alone.
Check it out below if you haven’t already seen it along with pics from last night’s celebration!
“Lights Out” Takes Fear To A Dark Place
Utilizing the classic horror tenet of the dark being the place where fear and horror reigns, New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures is looking to do some damage on the horror scene come July 22nd with the nationwide release of it’s new horror film “Lights Out,” directed by David F. Sandberg and produced by James Wan (“The Conjuring”).
Based on a family saga of a frightening entity that thrives in the dark and is unnaturally attached to family matriarch Sophie, played by the Maria Bello, it would seem that life really depends on these people always paying the electric bill on time… but of course it never ever works out easy peasy like that in fiction or real life, right?
“Lights Out” is a motion picture release from New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures starring Teresa Palmer, Gabriel Bateman, Alexander DiPersia, Billy Burke and Maria Bello. It is scheduled for nationwide theater release on July 22nd. See the new trailer here:

Puff Daddy, Ty Dolla $ign And Gizzle Celebrate The Good Life In New Visual
(AllHipHop News) Today (March 31st) Puff Daddy released the newest visual for his song “You Could Be My Lover” via VEVO.
For the video The MMM mogul commissioned Ty Dolla $ign and newly signed Bad Boy artist Gizzle for a LA house party sure to entertain viewers.
With beautiful ladies and plenty of vibes Puff Daddy and his team took over the Hollywood Hills mansion for a Ciroc-fueled visual overlooking Los Angeles and its skyline.
“I wanted to like create this vibe that like everyone who saw the video wanted to be at the party and at the house having fun,”director Harrison Boyce explained. “I guess the underlying concept is you can’t be my girl but you can be my lover, we can f*ck around,”
“Man, Puff man, he’s a legend. To be a part of this is really big. I always watched him growing up,” Ty Dolla stated as he started singing Puff Daddy’s “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down” featuring Mase. “Now to be in the video with him is just crazy.”
“I had my verse idea, Ty has some of his hook ideas, Puff came and finished the hook and we all wrote the rest of the song. Once everyone brought their special ingredients to the gumbo it turned out into that thang,” Gizzle said. “He knows exactly what he wants, even if he can’t tell you exactly in the right words. He knows exactly what he wants, if you just trust the process, you’ll get there.”
“He doesn’t stop where you would think, like where I would usually stop at,” Ty said of the recording process. “He’s like ‘Nah man, I see it in you man, I believe in you man. Go! Lets do this sht again real big! Like motion picture sht.”
Check out some images of the shoot and of course the official visual for “You Could Be My Lover” below:
Puff Daddy, Ty Dolla $ign And Gizzle Celebrate The Good Life In New VisualDid Tidal Lie About Kanye West’s ‘The Life Of Pablo’ Streaming Numbers?
Just in time for its one-year anniversary, Tidal has announced that it has garnered more than 3 million global subscribers. This adds 2.5 million to the 540K it had at it’s launch, most likely from the prior version of the service before Jay Z acquired it. Tidal also says that Kanye West’s exclusive album, ‘The Life of Pablo’ was streamed 250 million times in its first 10 days of release. Hits Daily Double says that while they aren’t math wizards, something certainly doesn’t add up.
“We took off our shoes and socks so we could count on both fingers and toes and our rough calculation is that 3m goes into 250m about 80 times. Which means that every single one of Tidal’s paid subscribers have played Pablo in its entirety eight times a day every day for 10 days, said HDD.”

A Houston ESPN radio affiliate recently conducted a phone interview with a staff member from the blog site Fameolous. Ice Cube Reflects On The Value Of Black Lives As N.W.A. Enters Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame
(AllHipHop News) On April 8th Ice Cube and N.W.A. take over Brooklyn, NY for their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Joining N.W.A. in the 2016 Class are Cheap Trick, Chicago, Deep Purple, Steve Miller and Bert Berns (Non-performer Category) according to the Rock Hall’s website.
As his induction to the Rock Hall draws closer, Ice Cube spoke with the Cleveland Plain Dealer about N.W.A.’s music and how its still relevant today with issues of police brutality in the news daily.
“When you put something on people’s radar and plant a seed in their mind, it might take some time for that seed to germinate and grow,” Cube explained.
“When we did ‘F*** Tha Police,’ the police could do no wrong in a court of law,” he explained. “Now, after that song, police are held just as accountable.
Because of those lyrics N.W.A. is the fifth Hip-Hop act to kick in the door at the Rock Hall, joining Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five, Run-D.M.C., the Beastie Boys and Public Enemy. Ice Cube and N.W.A. were chosen by more than 800 voters of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation in combination with results from the Rock Hall’s online fan vote.
“We put this on people’s minds years ago, and now you have a generation of people who are looking very closely at how the police act and work,” he added.
Cube also took the time to revert to a Higher Learning like mind-state and spoke in reference to the Tamir Rice case in which a 12 year old Cleveland boy was gunned down by police in 2014.
“Nobody values Black life,” he said, in reference to Cleveland’s Tamir Rice case. “That’s why we keep revisiting it.
“Everybody believes a black life is cheaper than a White life, whether they admit it or not, and that’s really the core.
“It ain’t looking at the police, it ain’t looking at the man who’s a racist, it’s looking at ourselves,” said the legendary West Coast Gangsta rapper.
The comments come on the heals of a strong promotional run for his movie Barbershop: The Next Cut, which is the 4th installment in his series of Barbershop films. During the interviews Cube explained how he wanted to maintain the comedy theme, but also address the violence in Chicago with Black on Black violence.

(AllHipHop News) Today The Migo’s rapper Offset was arrested for marijuana possession in Chattahoochee, GA just southwest of Atlanta.
In addition to uncovering under an ounce of buds, Offset was driving with a suspended license according to reports by TMZ.
Failing to pay an originally issued ticket for$171, the Atlanta rapper was arrested and detained for not paying the ticket and the subsequent fines, that resulted in $316 in fees and violations for driving with a suspended license.
Apparently the rapper was under the impression the ticket had been handled after he served 8 months for drugs and weapons charges according to a recent Fader article quoting his lawyer.
According to that article, the violation earlier this month would not affect Offset’s 5 year probation, no word on how this will affect his probation status.
Recently Takeoff of the Migos told TMZ they were being targeted by police in Atlanta saying, “they always messing with us. They don’t give us not room to breathe. Y’all see it y’all self…We just here to do our job, man…Just leave us alone”

PREMIERE: Sy Ari Da Kid Gets Trippy With #B4THB Visual For “Intermission” (VIDEO)EXCLUSIVE: Natasha Mosley Talks Teaming With Zaytoven For ‘Naytoven’ Project
(AllHipHop Features) Trap music pioneer Xavier “Zaytoven” Dotson has a catalog of production credits that features works with Gucci Mane, Usher, Future, Migos, Jeezy, Young Dolph, and countless other performers. In addition, the self-taught instrumentalist has also been locked in the studio with emerging singer-songwriter Natasha Mosley.
The Atlanta-based duo of Natasha and Zaytoven was the force behind the recent single “Stranded,” and an entire body of work is set to follow. Listeners can be on the lookout for Naytoven, a portmanteau of the German-born producer and the Gwinnett County raised vocalist’s names.
Naytoven will follow Mosley’s 2015 album Rose Hall. Prior to breaking out as a solo artist, the relative of Blues icon Bessie Smith spent time as a member of two separate girl groups – The Feisty Girl Project which was started by Jermaine Durpi’s father Michael Mauldin and Juice which was under the tutelage of former Xscape singer Tiny Harris.
Mosley is now signed to the independent label ISO Music. With Zaytoven also in her corner, the Collins Hill High School representative is currently setting forth a path to leave a measurable mark on the R&B picture. Discover more about Natasha Mosley in this exclusive interview with AllHipHop.com.
At what point did you connect with Zaytoven?
The first time we ever did a song together is going on two years ago. The first song we ever did was called “Face In The Pillow.” I always heard about Zay and wanted to work with him. Mike Fresh – a writer and artist I’ll be working with – was the first person to take me to Zay.
When I met Zay, I walked into his house and he said, “Oh, so you sing?” I said, “Yeah.” He was like, “Sing me a song.” I sung for him and he said, “Oh, we definitely gotta work.” After that, we’ve been working ever since.
And now you’re working on a joint project?
We have a project coming out called Naytoven. He actually came up with the name. I thought that was pretty dope.
Is it going to be a full album or an EP?
We’ve been going back and forth so much on exactly what we want it to be. We keep changing how many songs we’re going to put on there. We keep making more songs. We don’t know if it’s going to be 10 or 15. At first it was going to be about 5 songs, but we keep changing because we’ve got so many good songs. We’re probably going to pick the best 10 songs that we have together, so I think it’s going to be more like an album.
He’s producing all of the tracks, but have you worked with any other artists?
I worked with a lot of artists in the past like YG, Tyga, Gucci Mane, Jeremih, Lil Wayne, and Young Dro. I think this project is going to be just me.
Natasha Mosley + Jeremih
You mentioned the song with Jeremih. That actually ended up on the Magic Mike XXL soundtrack. What was your reaction when you found out the song was part of that project?
I didn’t think it was for real. My friend that told me is always playing around, so I was thinking, “Yeah right.” He said, “Tasha, I’m for real this time.” When I actually saw it was serious, I was like, “Oh my god! I’m going to be in a real movie! Aside from me being on a major artist’s song, we’re actually going to be in a major film in theaters.” And in the movie it’s my part that’s playing, so it was an amazing feeling. It’s a blessing.
Your performance on the song “Comin Back” felt like it had more of a rap delivery than a traditional R&B delivery.
Everybody be at Zay’s house. That particular day, Yung L.A. was there in the studio writing this song. I walked in and said, “Man, this is hot. What’s this?” I just kept hearing him say, “Comin back to you. This is for a girl.” I said, “This is kind of what I’m going through right now.”
He was in the studio writing it. I sat down next to him, and I started throwing words and concepts at him. We ended up writing the song together. Then Mike Fresh came in and helped with some of the words as well. We kind of molded the song to have that rap feel. Especially with Yung L.A., because he’s had so many hits. He gave it that rap feel.
The content on your other single “Stranded” is interesting. What inspired that direction?
I actually wrote that song in like the 8th or 9th grade. I was in a relationship with somebody. I thought I knew what I was talking about and I was all in love. I felt like, “If he leaves me, it’s the end of the world.” That was kind of the mindset that I was in at that time.
I said, “Isom [ISO Music’s head], I think I should re-sing the song, because when I sung it I was so young. I don’t even know if I can hit the notes any more.” He said, “Yes, you can.” I put the song out. It got such a good response. I just love it. I can’t wait to sing it live, because those emotions and everything I wrote the song about was real.
The combined total for your “Anything” video has over 4 million views on YouTube. What do you think it is about that particular song that has caused it to connect with so many listeners?
From the feedback that I’ve been getting, I think it’s that whole woman empowerment – “I’m sexy,” “Anything she can do, I can do better” – that whole confidence level thing. I’m small and petite. I don’t have this big booty or big titties, but at the same time I’m still showing my confidence.
Mind you, I’m talking about being in a strip club and seeing what she can do on the pole. I’m over here saying, “I can do just what she’s doing and better.” I feel like that makes the women cling to the song. That’s just off the responses I’ve been getting. You know my girls tweet me. They tell me, “That’s my song. That’s my new twerking anthem.” So I can kind of tell how it makes them feel.
I saw a tweet that you retweeted where basically the person was saying how they appreciate how your music helps them through a low point in their life. When you get responses like that, what is your reaction?
My reaction to that is don’t stop, keep going, don’t give up. The main thing that inspires me the most is when people tweet me and say, “You’re music is giving me life.” To me, that’s the best feeling ever. To know I’m giving somebody life through my music, it makes me never want to stop.
Where would you like to see your career in five years?
I want to be a megastar. I want to be at the awards. I want to be touring. I’m out here working, grinding, and getting to the next level. Inspiring people is my main thing. When I was growing up I loved Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Tamia, and Brandy. Just seeing how they make their fans feel – they put people in their real emotions. That’s what I want to do.

EXCLUSIVE: Natasha Mosley Talks Teaming With Zaytoven For ‘Naytoven’ ProjectJay Z Reportedly Working On New Music (AUDIO)
(AllHipHop News) Is Hov ready to return with his 13th studio album? According to talk in the industry Jay Z is currently working on music. Statik Selektah appeared on The Combat Jack Show, and the producer mentioned the Roc Nation boss could be putting together new records.
The production mind behind the Statik KXNG joint album with Kxng Crooked was asked which other artists he would like to work with in the future. His first answer was Jay Z. When questioned if Jay was working on something at the moment, Statik replied, “Yeah, I heard he was.”
Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Kareem “Biggs” Burke added more fuel to the speculation his former business partner could be back in the studio. Biggs revealed in an interview with the Rap Radar podcast that Jay told him he planned to make one more album.
Biggs supposedly responded to Jay’s one final LP comment by saying, “Come on man. You’re too close to the Beatles now.” The iconic rock band’s total of 19 #1 albums is currently the all-time record for any act. Jay is in second place with 13.
Another Roc affiliate shared his belief that Jay is actually retired for good. Memphis Bleek recently expressed his mentor was unlikely to release another album. While it is not clear if the Brooklyn Hip Hop legend has another solo effort in the works, there have also been rumors swirling for several years that Jay and his wife Beyoncé are teaming up for a collaborative project.

(AllHipHop News) A list of who’s who in the music industry is planning to take part in the David Bowie Tribute Concert at Carnegie Hall tonight (March 31). However, one scheduled act will not be hitting the stage at the showcase.
The Roots drummer Questlove posted a message on Instagram explaining why his group will not be performing at the event. He wrote:
Mood. I’ve never been so insecure or petty as to deny a fellow musician use of ANY of my equipment (or my band’s equipment—-or resources or contacts or knowledge or ANYTHING) it angers me when that same courtesy is not reciprocated. (Believe you me I was about to get#TomPetty or #PettyWap or #PetRockAndCLSmooth or #BlackPetty or however you wanna roll wit it)—keeping a level head and not being self destructive is a weak point I’m working on. But I’m also keeping it true: The Roots/Bilal/Kimbra (w/ Wendy Melvoin, DD Jackson & Ray Angry) pulled out of these Bowie gigs. We have patience. But we do NOT have patience for the#Bitchassness. Enjoy your precious equipment.
There is a separate Bowie tribute set for Friday, April 1 at Radio City Music Hall. As of press time, Michael Dorf, the organizer for the events, still has The Roots listed as performers for both shows on the Music Of website.
Questlove Says “B*tchassness” Caused The Roots To Pull Out Of David Bowie Tribute ConcertDesiigner Bought The “Panda” Beat From British Producer For $200
(AllHipHop News) For all the aspiring rappers buying beats online, that process could end up being a wise investment one day. Look at Brooklyn’s Desiigner. His breakout record “Panda” is a Top 40 hit, and it earned him a deal with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music. That success is the result of Desiigner only paying $200 for the track.
The producer of “Panda” connected with Genius to discuss how his work ended up with Desiigner. Manchester beat maker Adnan “Menace” Khan sold the beat to the rising rhymer in 2014, but his original intent was for it the final version to have a different sound.
“When I posted on YouTube, I wrote: “Meek Mill—Ace Hood Type Beat.” So it came out totally different than [I thought],” said Menace.
The 22-year-old then discovered his beat would be used as part of Kanye West’s “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 2” off The Life Of Pablo album. While Atlanta hit maker Metro Boomin’s famous tag appears on the cut, Menace ensures he has been given his proper due.
“A lot of people were saying, ‘Why is Metro Boomin credited on your beat?’ It splits,” explains Menace.” Metro Boomin does “Pt. 1” – his track finished at the beginning of my track and slowly drifts into mine, so it blends. I’m credited.”
Menace wished “Father” was closer to 3 or 4 minutes and he would have liked to have seen Kanye use less Auto-Tune, but he still called the finished producer “dope.” The producer-on-the-rise is planning to do more tracks with Desiigner in the future.
He adds, “I’d love to work with him again. How Metro is to Future, London is to Young Thug, and Menace is to Desiigner.”

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West declared his latest album The Life Of Pablo would never be on Apple, but it seems the LP could be making its way to other streaming services such as Apple Music, Spotify, and Google Play. Mashable reports TLOP, which was exclusively available on Tidal, is expected to arrive on the other platforms this Friday.
At the moment, the songs “Famous” and “I Love Kanye” are already able to be streamed through various services. It is not clear if Kanye’s most recent body of work will be added to iTunes. Again, the G.O.O.D. Music founder claimed the project will never be for sale.
My album will never never never be on Apple. And it will never be for sale… You can only get it on Tidal.

The Life Of Pablo was reportedly streamed over 250 million times in the first 10 days it was on Tidal. Since its release on February 14, Kanye has altered the music and tracklist several times.

(AllHipHop News) In January, AllHipHop.com broke the news that incarcerated rapper C-Murder is set to partner with Boosie Badazz for a joint album titled Penitentiary Chances. Then earlier this month, AllHipHop.com premiered C-Murder’s “Dear Supreme Court” music video. According to reports, the New Orleans native’s decision to release vocals while behind bars could land him in trouble.
The Louisiana Department of Corrections is currently investigating how C-Murder (born Corey Miller) was able to record the music. Prison officials questioned C-Murder, and he claimed that all of the songs were recorded before entering Angola prison.
However, lyrics from “Dear Supreme Court” suggest they were written after he was convicted of murdering 16-year-old Steve Thomas, but officials could not find any conclusive evidence the song was created while C-Murder was in the facility. He apparently refused to take a polygraph test.
C-Murder has maintained his innocence, and his attorneys are challenging the conviction. The TRU member is hoping his life sentence gets vacated and he is given a new trial. The appeal is based on witnesses now saying C-Murder was not involved in the fight at the club the night Thomas was killed.

Iggy Azelea Shouts Out D’Angeo Russell For Nick Young Cheating Video
Photo via Iggy Azalea’s Instagram
Rumor has it that there is some serious tension in the Los Angeles Lakers’ locker room. Sources are saying teammates aren’t rocking with D’Angelo Russell after video surfaced of Russell recording a private conversation between him and Nick Young. Young appears to be unaware that he’s being recorded in the video, and he reveals that he has cheated on his fiancee Iggy Azalea. We have so many questions. Why was he being recorded? Who leaked the video? The video has allegedly done damage to the brotherhood of the team. Interestingly enough, Iggy has seen the video, and she took to Twitter to thank D’Angelo Russell for the video. That has to hurt. Perhaps this is the real reason Nick & Iggy’s wedding date has been pushed back. The cheating rumors have plagued their relationship for a while!

(AllHipHop News) When you are 50 Cent and you’re playing with money, albeit “fake” money on IG, you have the option to toy with different ideas and industries that interest you.
50 Cent’s newest potential venture could be horses as the Queens bred rapper is set to host a Louisville stationed Derby Eve Party in anticipation of the Kentucky Derby on May 6th.
50 will host “The 50 Cent Derby Takeover” starting at 11pm and working its way into the early hours of the morning at Club Liv on West Liberty Street in Louisville. The party will feature several DJs, celebrities and food vendors.
The G-Unit camp will be on deck for this one as Young Buck is scheduled to make an appearance along with three renowned DJs.
Guests will be treated to the sounds of DJ E-Feezy (The Wolf of South Beach), DJ Fresh, (Rich Homie Quan’s DJ) and DJ Slikk, who will be a part of what promoters are calling the “Main Event.”
While Horse Racing isn’t the most popular sport in Hip-Hop, according to the Kentucky Derby’s website, “the history of the Kentucky Derby and African-American horsemen are intertwined.”
“The Derby and Churchill Downs owe a great deal to these men who helped shape America’s greatest race. Thirteen of the 15 riders in the first Derby were African-American, while African-American reinsmen won 15 of the Derby’s first 28 runnings,” the website reads. “The 11 African-American jockeys rode a total of 15 Derby winners between 1875 and 1902.”
The NAACP and the Lincoln Foundation honored those horsemen in 1980 with a plaque commemorating the occasion, which is now in the Kentucky Derby Museum’s collection.
In addition to the aforementioned acts, a list of celebrity guests will be released in coming weeks.
The party is expected to last from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Kylie Krabbe Talks To Mike Epps & Zulay Henao About “Meet The Blacks”
AllHipHop journalist and interviewer Kylie Krabbe caught up with Executive Producer and star Mike Epps, along with his co-star Zulay Henao to talk about their new comedy film “Meet The Blacks” that opens in theaters nationwide on April 1, 2016. “Meet The Blacks” is a fish out of water spoof on the popular “Purge” movies. When Carl Black (Mike Epps) comes into some money and moves his family from Chicago to Beverly Hills on the night of the annual purge, when all crime is legal for twelve hours, it’s all about horror and crazy hilarity as the Blacks dodge the Klan, folks Carl hustled back in Chicago, a truly psychotic ex girlfriend and their new Beverly Hills Homeowners Association just for starters as The Blacks kick off the worst timed cross country move ever.
“Meet The Blacks” also stars Lil Duval, Snoop Dogg, Mike Tyson, Paul Mooney, Charlie Murphy and Michael Blackson. It is directed by Deon Taylor, whose previous films include “Supremacy,” “Chain Letter,” and “Dead Tone.”

(AllHipHop News) Big Sean and Jhené Aiko teamed up for the forthcoming collaborative project Twenty88. The two Def Jam recording artists spoke with Flaunt about the joint effort.
With Sean being a wordplay rapper from Detroit and Aiko being an alternative R&B singer from Los Angeles, some listeners are interested to know what their combined style will sound like. The duo insisted Twenty88 will be different from their respective individual music.
“It’s a wide range,” said Aiko. “It gets turned up.”
Sean added, “Then it gets melodic, then it gets vibed out. It touches all these things, but it sounds very cohesive.”
Aiko and Sean first met in producer No I.D.’s L.A. office in 2012, but they began putting the project together last summer. The creative process for Twenty88 includes friendly competition between the two performers.
“I think secretly there’s a little competition,” stated Aiko. “I want my verse to sound better than his, and he wants his to sound better than mine.”
According to the pair, Twenty88 is set to include elements of fantasy and science fiction. Sex will play a big role on the project as well (look for K-Ci and JoJo to make an appearance on the sexually explicit song “Two-Minute Warning”). The outcome was a musical collection that was created mostly in the minds of Sean and Aiko.
“It was usually just me, Jhené, and the engineer,” said Sean. “I had a lot of the raw ideas, and she would build them up. But it was pretty natural and organic.”
Chris Brown “Throws Shade” At Kehlani & PartyNextDoor In Defense Of Kyrie Irving
(AllHipHop News) Chris Brown has decided to insert himself in the ongoing drama between Kehlani, PartyNextDoor, and Kyrie Irving. The “Fine By Me” singer slammed his fellow R&B performers during a rant on Twitter.
“Girls be mad at a n*gga for f*cking around wit b*tches, but her DMs got more names [than] the Declaration of Independence. #YEAHIMTHROWINGSHADE,” wrote Brown.
The Kehlani/PND/Irving news story dominated the blogs and social media this week after PartyNextDoor posted a picture of himself in bed with assumed ex-girlfriend Kehlani. The photograph led to Twitter users blasting Kehlani, because they believed she was cheating on Irving with PND.
Kehlani then added a picture to Instagram of herself in a hospital bed. The caption of the photo implied she attempted to commit suicide. CB seemed to take issue with the 20-year-old California native’s choice to post that message on Instagram.
“There is no attempting suicide. Stop flexing for the gram. Doing sh*t for sympathy so them comments under your pics don’t look so bad,” stated Chris.

(AllHipHop News) R&B vocalist Kehlani announced she was taken to the hospital this week in a now deleted Instagram post. The caption for the photo suggested the You Should Be Here creator attempted to take her own life.
Twitter users responded to the singer’s message by causing the hashtag #StayStrongKehlani to trend on the social media site. Kehlani then returned to Instagram to give an update on her condition.
“Thank you for the love. Everyone’s fighting things people know nothing about,” wrote Kehlani. “Healthy, home, and with people who love me. Thank you for all support.”

Dave Chappelle Coming Back To Tv?Joey Bada$$ Disses Troy Ave During Freestyle; Troy Ave Responds (VIDEO)
(AllHipHop News) Brooklyn rappers Joey Bada$$ and Troy Ave have entered the third round of their feud. During a freestyle performance on Sway In The Morning, Joey responded to Troy’s “Bad Ass” diss track released a few weeks ago. Troy got wind of the Pro Era member’s bars and fired back on Instagram.
The beef began last summer when the two New Yorkers clashed over who was the top independent artist. The conflict reignited earlier this month after Joey rapped about his partner Kirk Knight outselling Troy on the song “Ready.” The BSB leader then released “Bad Ass” as a response, but Troy was hit with backlash for including lyrics about the suicide of fellow Pro Era representative Capital STEEZ.
Joey addressed the disrespectful rhymes by spitting on Sway, “He took a leap of faith and only brightened his light. You took a cheap shot of hate and only shortened your life. The difference between you and him is that he lives forever. You’ll be the first to die that nobody ever remembers. Because the city never needs you ever. You committed career suicide and made New York better.”
Troy then took to IG to address what Joey had to say. He wrote a lengthy caption which included the “Do Betta” performer suggesting Joey is corny and his music does not reflect their hometown of New York City. Troy followed that by uploading a video for “Bad Ass.”
The clip opens with Tory stating, “Contrary to popular belief or what other people’s music may lead you to believe, if you commit suicide, you will not be a martyr, you will not be a legend… If you’re going through any type of issues, suicide is not the answer. It’s not the way. They have hotlines you can call, people you can talk too. You can even at me.”
Check out Joey Bada$$’s “5 Fingers Of Death” freestyle and Troy Ave’s Instagram posts and “Joey Mada$$ Ready Diss Reply” video below.

Obama Wages War On Lean And Opiates At Drug Abuse Summit
(AllHipHop News) After President Obama returned from his South American trip with stops in Cuba and Argentina last week, The POTUS visited Atlanta, Georgia to escalate the fight against prescription drug abuse.
Obama addressed individuals in recovery, family members, medical professionals, and law enforcement officials while attending the National Rx Drug Abuse & Heroin Summit, targeting opioid abuse and the heroin epidemic.
The move which includes targeting prescription cough syrup also known as “lean” or “sizzurp,” looks to treat opioid users with buprenorphine.
The Department of Health And Human Services also recently released $94 million in new funding for 271 Community Health Centers to increase substance use disorder treatment services.
There is also an included focus on expanding medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorders in underserved communities among other initiatives.
The promethazine and codeine concoction was famously popularized by DJ Screw with his “chopped and screwed” style of music and his S.U.C. (Screwed Up Click) group of rappers.
Tragically the legendary DJ Screw, Big Moe and the late great Pimp C all succumbed to a lethal dosages of the potion.
Codeine, which is an opiate, produces a feeling of said euphoria, while the cough syrup also contains a drug called promethazine, which acts as a sedative.
“It’s important to recognize today, that we are seeing more people killed because of opioid overdoses than traffic accidents,” President Barack Obama explained. “Think about that, a lot of people tragically die from car accidents and we spend a lot of time and a lot of resources to reduce those fatalities. The good news is we’ve actually been successful, the problem is here we actually have the trajectory going in the opposite direction.”
A host of rappers have had public battles with their use of lean including Lil Wayne, most recently Future, and Boosie who said that the deadly concoction “almost killed him 3 or 4 times.”
“So 2014, which is the last year we have accurate data for, you see an enormous ongoing spike in the number of people who are using opioids, in ways that are unhealthy, and you are seeing a significant rise in the number of people who are being killed,” Obama explained.
According the The White House’s official website whitehouse.gov, in 2014 nearly 21,000 deaths in the United States involved prescription opioids, and more than 10,500 involved heroin.

B-Dot: Killin’ ‘Em With Consciousness
The San Fernando Valley with a current population of two million people makes up a sizeable portion of Los Angeles County, yet the “Valley” as it’s often referred to, hasn’t really produced much Hip-Hop talent like other areas of Los Angeles have. It’s the place where rappers buy homes and go to live after escaping the inner-city. However, the Valley isn’t just malls, sunshine, and suburbs. As of late there has been a rise of artists coming from that area, with Charles Burnley better known as B Dot, at the top of that list.
If you’ve been on social media for the last year, then you’ve probably seen the clip of his battle against Texas rapper Stricc that’s known as the “Conscious rapper destroys white rapper” battle. That video has made its way on Facebook, Youtube, and other outlets, receiving several million views in the process. As part of the rising LA Battlegroundz league, B Dot has taken a unique approach to his battles. Instead of filling with verses with tales of violence and punchline jokes, he’s taken the conscious lane and raps about knowledge, history, and social issues. Most recently, he battled veteran Danny Myers and the two had a spectacular back and forth that was the talk of the battle rap world. AllHipHop.com caught up with B Dot to find out about the man behind the conscious freestyles and to see what the future might possible hold for him.
AllHipHop.com: Let’s start with a little bit of background information on yourself first.
B Dot: As far as my career as a battle rapper, I’ve been involved in it since 2013. I was battling off camera back in like 2006/2007 but as far as being in a league is concerned, I’ve been doing it since 2013.
AHH: You’re still considered a newbie then since there are guys who have been involved in league battles for years.
B Dot: That works to my advantage because my opponents will think of me as some young new guy, but they don’t understand that I’m very battle rap savvy and polished. I’ve been doing it for a long time – just under the radar. I’ve been in the music industry all of my life, thanks to my father. He’s run multiple independent labels and has worked with the likes of Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and lots of others.
AHH: What label was that?
B Dot: He had one called Longevity and another one called Tantrum. When Dr. Dre started Aftermath, he worked with him and also when Ice Cube had Heavyweight Records.
AHH: The guy who ran Heavyweight Records was the one who was recently run-over by Suge Knight.
B Dot: That was Terry Carter, he was Ice Cube’s Heavyweight Records partner. When that label was started, my father worked with them helping to develop artists. My father’s first artist was Mr. Short Khop, who was signed to him under a production deal. He got Short Khop a record deal with Heavyweight. Long story short, I’ve been around this business my whole life. I was even signed to my father back in 2005. The deal itself just didn’t work out, but I was able to put out a couple of mixtapes and albums independently.
One night I was at the studio in late 2012 and one of my boys came through with a camera to do an interview. During the interview, he brought up battle rapping and I told him that I would consider it. Shortly after, the same guy who was taping the interview offered me a chance to battle and I went up against a rapper named Know It All a few weeks later, and I’ve been consistently battling since then.
AHH: How much of these battle verses are prepared and how much is improvised? I know you have to improvise a bit because you guys mention stuff in direct response to something your opponent has said.
B Dot: There is a balance of preparing and improvising when needed. Sometimes you can prepare a response for something that your opponent might say – having those bars ready just in case. There are all different variables to the equation. You can prepare, freestyle on the spot, and have something ready just in case – all of your bases must be covered when you are battling a top notch rapper like Danny Myers. He’s someone that’s arguably one of the best battle rappers in the world right now. I had to come fully prepared for him.
AHH: Have you ever had a moment within yourself while you battling that you were unsure of how you were going to respond to something your opponent said?
B Dot: Yeah, but it’s about being confident in your material. So when I’m standing there and someone like Danny Myers is doing a round, I’ll be like, “This is amazing.” But when it’s your turn to rap, you have to be confident in yourself and know that your material is going to be just as good, if not better.
AHH: I want to talk about your battle with Stricc. Your battle with him went viral and is commonly referred to as the “White Boy Who Got Destroyed” battle. He seems like a cool guy and I kind of feel bad that he’s going to be stuck with that label for a while.
B Dot: Unfortunately, yes, but the interesting thing is that the clip that went viral was just the third round of the battle. Most people who have watched the entire battle agree that it was a great one. Stricc is phenomenal as an MC – incredible! In my opinion he’s just as good as Danny Myers, and I think that when it’s all said and done, he’ll go far in the battle rap world. He will move past that label of being the “white kid who got destroyed.”
AHH: You did kick a lot of knowledge in that battle and I think that’s the one thing that has impressed a lot of people Most rappers turn these bouts in to a glorified bagging/snapping contest using insults to get crowd reactions. Knowledge seems to be your lane.
B Dot: It’s part of who I am on an everyday basis. I did see that there was a void in the battle rap community and in the hip hop genre altogether – there has been an oversaturation of violent content and fake macho attitudes. Everybody feels like in order to be a successful hip hop artist, you have to be a gangsta or from the streets. All of this happened after conscious rappers subsided from the business. Before that, hip hop was about telling stories about the streets but without glorifying them. You look at groups and acts like KRS-One, Public Enemy, Brand Nubian, Rakim, and many others and what they spoke about, I want to help bring that back to the industry.
I looked at battle rap and I saw that nobody was really doing that. Shout out to Loaded Lux – he’s someone who inspired me. He brought that kind of consciousness briefly but didn’t really dive in to it like I felt it should have been done. I felt like somebody really needed to come in to battle rap, clean it up, and come with consciousness for three rounds – and still do the other entertaining aspects of battling. I get it that battle rap is a bit of a blood sport but I myself want to mix up consciousness with it and be more consistent with an intellectual approach as opposed to street stuff.
AHH: I’ve seen a few people make that Loaded Lux comparison. How do you feel about that?
B Dot: I’m over it now. At first it bothered me but there’s a couple of things; first off, he’s one of the greatest battle rappers of all time, so I’m going to start taking that as a compliment. Second, when someone does something great and another comes along who is reminiscent of that individual, it’s only human nature to make comparisons. I even made reference to that in my battle against Stricc when I said, “Even Kobe played like Jordan but that didn’t stop him from scoring.” It’s the same thing. Clearly, Kobe Bryant plays like Michael Jordan but the argument can be made that he’s just as good if not better. At this point it [the comparisons] doesn’t bother me. I know what I do is different than what he does. It doesn’t mean that it’s better and vice versa, it doesn’t mean he’s better than me. It just means we do different things in terms of the actual content.
AHH: Would you like to have a battle with Loaded Lux one day?
B Dot: He was recently asked that question in a recent interview and he stated that he supports what I do and doesn’t feel that there’s any benefit for us to go up against each other, so I respect that coming from him. However, if he were to say, “Let’s just do it for the sport and give the crowd what they want,” then I would humbly oblige. Until he says that, I’m going to respect his statement and continue to respect him as an elder and as someone who has already put in that work.
AHH: Rappers really say some disrespectful things to each other in these battles. Some fight and some give a hug after it’s done. Is it hard not to take some of these insults personally?
B Dot: It’s like you’re in a zone. I compare it to playing a sport – someone is trash talking on the field and you can’t respond physically because you’ll get thrown out of the game. You get your payback by performing. When I’m in a battle and someone is saying the craziest things to me, I know I can’t do anything physically but I’ll just give him the chance to say whatever he wants, and then I will get that chance too. It’s a blood sport, people are going to come after you and talk about you anyway they can – including your family members. You have to be prepared mentally for that.
AHH: Is there anything at all that’s off limits in a battle? Or that you consider to be?
B Dot: For me personally, there are some things that are off limits. Some rappers have gone as far as to say crazy things like raping someone’s kids or mom. I would never say things of that nature and I feel that I don’t need to. I feel like I can take an intellectual approach to break somebody down and not say the foulest disgusting things just to get under someone’s skin. I believe I can do that more effectively by using knowledge, truth, and facts. I’m just speaking for myself and my character, there are other battle rappers that have the attitude that anything and everything goes.
AHH: I know the crowd is a part of the battle experience but as I watch your battles, I can tell that you get very annoyed when you have to start a verse over again.
B Dot: That’s something that I personally have to work on and I think other artists handle that better than I do. I’m used to that – I’m used to rapping on records. When you’re coming up with your raps, you don’t know what line or word that the crowd is going to react to. The crowd response is spontaneous and on the spot, with all that energy in the room. I think out of all the battle rappers, I think that I might be the one that gets the most irritated.
AHH: Let’s talk about your most recent opponent, Danny Myers. Do you feel you won that battle, and if so, why?
B Dot: I definitely feel like I won the battle. This is not being cocky, but I feel like I can’t lose any battle because none of my opponents are doing what I am doing. I speak of facts and things that are evidenced to be real. I don’t care if it’s the best rapper in the world in front of me, if he’s saying lies – then nothing he’s saying or how he is saying it is real. The only way I can lose a battle is if someone wants to have a conversation with me about real life or maybe try to nitpick me as a person and who I am. Those are the types of battles that I’m interested in. So personally, yes I feel I won that battle because I said more facts that were aimed at him.
AHH: It seemed like he changed his approach though because he started to drop some science as well.
B Dot: They have to change up – I put the pressure on these dudes, bro. They know how it’s going to look standing there and having someone attack them intellectually – using words, history, religious references and current social issues. They know that rapping about guns and using metaphors about killing me – things that not real – will not hold weight. It’s the same as the Stricc battle. He had to defend himself as a white American because he knew I was going to take the pro-black approach. I made him have to delve in to his bag, so to speak, and find ways to counter that – and he did a great job. The same thing with Danny – I’m making these guys dig deeper instead of using the same tired “I’ll shoot you” rhymes. I feel like I’m turning these battles into debates where you have to use philosophy and knowledge in order to have ground to stand upon. I feel like I’m changing the game.
B Dot: My music career is my goal, first and foremost. With music, I can paint a picture for everybody and create a well-rounded piece of art that can be respected by multiple races and those that have different ideological perspectives. When I battle rap, I will use my philosophy against his, and that might rub some people the wrong way. But when I make music, I can make something sonically for people to enjoy, although some might get offended with the messages. I’m definitely more focused on music than the battles. I dropped my last album in 2014 called “Elevation” including the single with Xzibit that you mentioned. I’m getting ready to jump into my new album that I’m working on. I’ve put two records on my SoundCloud so far just what kind of response and reaction they’ll get. I’m hoping to have my album out by the summer time.
AHH: What are your future battle rap plans? I’ve heard that you’ve received a lot of challenges after your battle with Danny Myers.
B Dot: My battle with Danny is probably going to be my last one. There is a battle rapper named The Saga, who is a devout Christian, and I feel like we can have a great conversation. It wouldn’t be to bash religion but I think with our philosophies we can put on a great conversation that would transcend battle rap. I don’t think that battle will happen because he’s in a league called URL. They have their own set of contracts and obligations that they make their rappers sign. I don’t think I would ever get that matchup and I don’t really have my sights set on anybody else. If I never battle again, I’m cool with that. I feel like I’ve changed the game and did what I had to do.
AHH: You retiring must be a blow to the LA Battlegroundz league though. You’re like their Kobe Bryant.
B Dot: I know, but Kobe also gets that check. Shout out to my boys Alkatraz and Woods from LABG, they’re trying to get that league going. If there was a situation where I could continue to battle and take care of my family, I would definitely continue to battle there. They’re trying to get sponsors and financing to make it all worth everyone’s while. Once they get that together, maybe, but battling just for the love of it? I don’t know, man. I feel like I’ve accomplished what I set out to do already.
AHH: What if some of the other leagues were to offer you a contract? Like for instance, URL?
B Dot: I’m not sure if you know how that works but they have what they call the “Proving Grounds” and it’s basically like the NBA’s D-League. You have to go through those trenches just to make it to the top and I’m not interested in having a bunch of fights. I have no interest in that, and I don’t mean to sound cocky like I’m better than everybody. But the way I battle, I try to have talking points and conversations, and make it seem bigger than just a regular battle. I don’t have any interest in battling every Joe-Schmoe off of the street just to get to battle the guys I want to battle. If I were to go that route, you’d probably get a lackluster performance because my heart wouldn’t be in it.
